The feedback from the speakers changes and begins blasting death metal music so loudly into the sky that I swear the bridge suspensions are vibrating. The twins were in charge of the music selection. I catch sight of them on the side of the bridge, each with an arm raised, holding up their forefingers and pinkies in a devil sign, head-banging to the beat. They’re mouthing the words to the garbled voice screaming over the intense electric guitar and drums blasting out of the speakers. They might look pretty badass if it weren’t for their hobo clown outfits. It’s the loudest party the Bay Area has ever heard. Susan Ee
About This Quote

The feedback from the speakers changes and begins blasting death metal music so loudly into the sky that I swear the bridge suspensions are vibrating. The twins were in charge of the music selection.I catch sight of them on the side of the bridge, each with an arm raised, holding up their forefingers and pinkies in a devil sign, head-banging to the beat. They’re mouthing the words to the garbled voice screaming over the intense electric guitar and drums blasting out of the speakers. They might look pretty badass if it weren’t for their hobo clown outfits. It’s the loudest party the Bay Area has ever heard. The party was scheduled for Saturday night, but it hit San Francisco at 3pm on Sunday afternoon. The bus ride took 20 minutes after which I got off at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Station. I walked to downtown San Francisco where I met my friend Josh who was also making his way to this party by train. We decided to take a break under a bridge to talk about the party since I had no idea what it would be like once we arrived at Pier 7.I was expecting a bunch of people drinking around piers 7 or 8 with lights and speakers blasting out hardcore music with lots of people dressed as hobos or clowns. Once we arrived at Pier 7, we realized that there were no lights, only trash cans and umbrellas set up as makeshift lights. There were several tents set up as well as people walking around dressed as hobos and clowns dancing to blast music coming from speakers mounted on garbage cans and umbrellas hung from poles on either side of the pier. The scene looked like something right out of Black Rock City except without all of the dust and mud and mudpits covered in trash and mud. There was even a shirtless man dancing shirtless under one of those umbrellas wearing nothing but a pair of headphones attached to his waist with wires running off into his pants. This guy got me really excited because he was wearing such an awesome costume that I wanted him to come dance with us under that umbrella but he never stopped dancing and dancing until I lost sight of him behind some other people hanging underneath each other's limbs waving empty beer bottles in time with the music blaring from those speakers on garbage cans and umbrellas floating along San Francisco Bay like giant floating pirate ships with big lights on top strung
